Clinic 1 – Mobility/Injury Prevention with Laurie Hutchinson    

  • Monday, March 6th      
  • 6:00 - 6:30pm

In this session, our in-house Pilates, body rolling and alignment expert, Laurie will show you techniques to help with mobility and myofascial release. This will keep your body happy, healthy and injury free as well as compliment your warm up, cool down and stretching routine.

 


Clinic 2 – Warm Up Drills with Llew Edwards

Llew, our Strength and Conditioning Coach will educate on the importance of proper warmup for injury prevention. Llew will take you through different warm-up drills that will help to improve your running workout.

 


Clinic 3 – Interval Training with Jack VanDyk

  • Tuesday, March 21st
  • 5:30 – 6:00pm

Join Jack, 3433 Technical Specialist, for a discussion on how to establish pacing through interval training, what test sessions you can use and how to understand what speed you should run and when. 

 


Clinic 4 – Plyometric Training with Ken Kotyk 

  • Tuesday,  March 28th
  • 5:30 – 6:00pm

Plyometrics, also known as "jump training" or "plyos", are exercises in which muscles exert maximum force in short intervals of time, with the goal of increasing power (speed-strength). In this clinic, Ken, former Olympian and Personal Trainer, will demonstrate and educate how plyometric training can improve running strength and help to prevent injuries. You will learn proper technique through a variety of drills. 

 


Clinic 5 – Running Shoe Demo with Tech Shop

  • Tuesday, April 25
  • 5:00 – 6:00pm

LOCATION MOVED! This will now be held at The Tech Shop (2424-4th Street SW).
The Tech Shop will be with brand representatives from Mizuno, New Balance and Saucony to showcase their products. This is an opportunity to test footwear for training and racing. Athletes who join this session will get a sense of the types of footwear, including when to use them and when to discard. Each attendee will recieve a $25 Gift Card to The Tech Shop as well as a Repsol Sport Centre sport bag.
